Eling Tide Mill Trust Ltd. was formed in 1978 at the instigation of New Forest District Council, who actually own the Tide Mill and the dam/Tollbridge. While the Council retain responsibility for the Tollbridge (and collect the tolls), the Trust took over the care and administration of Eling Tide Mill, overseeing the last phase of the restoration, and running the Mill as a working mill/museum once the restoration was completed in 1980.
The Trust's purpose is "to maintain Eling Tide Mill as a working mill for the education and benefit of present and future generations". It is a registered charity, number 277170.
The Trustees employ a full-time Mill Manager (who is also the miller) for the day-to-day running of the Mill, along with a small number of part-time assistants. For most purposes contact should be made with the Mill Manager at the Mill's address.
Eling Tide Mill Trust Ltd. is a registered company, No. 1388723, and formal notifications should be made to the Assistant Secretary to the Trust, c/o the Registered Office: Eling Tide Mill Trust Ltd., Appletree Court, Lyndhurst, Hants.
